Clark Intermediate School – Building E
Gravity framing is comprised of steel Wide Flange beams and tube columns. The lateral system is ordinary concentric braced frames with HSS columns and braces. Light gage stud walls form the building envelope and interior partitions.
Immediately outstanding are the 30 foot tall pipe columns at the east of the building. These columns support a large canopy that shields the building from the sun and rain. In the late afternoon, the canopy becomes a work of art, casting a shadow across the face of the building that spells out “CLARK”.
